Society of Nepalese Engineers in UK (SONEUK) has successfully completed its first Webinar of 2025 on Sat 25th Jan 2025. The webinar series 01 titled “Challenges and Opportunities of Budhigandaki Hydropower Project – 1200MW” was presented by Associate Prof of IOE/TU and former coordinator Budhigandaki Hydropower Project and former CEO of Budhigandaki Jalbidhyut Company, Dr Jagat Kumar Shrestha. The webinar was attended by members of SONEUK, ASNEngr (American Society of Nepalese Engineers), NEA (Nepal Engineers’ Association), CNSUK (Centre for Nepalese Studies UK) and professionals from UK, Nepal, and USA.
Over 2 hrs 30mins long webinar was actively engaged by 40 participants and 15 or more questions and concerns were dealt.
As a closing remark, chairperson of SONEUK, Er. Subodh Timilsina thanked Dr Jagat Kumar Shrestha for his very informative and detailed presentation highlighting challenges Vs opportunities of most talked Budhigandaki HP and clarifying all questions and concerns. Mr Timilsina also thanked all participants across three continents for their active engagements, thought-provoking questions concerns.
SONEUK also announced the date and the topic of next webinar series 02, titled “Water Resources, Use of Underground Spaces and Inter-Basin Water Transfer Projects in Nepal” on Sat 15th Feb 2025 @ 13:30GMT (details to follow shortly).
