Society of Nepalese Engineers in UK (SONEUK) held a fruitful online interaction with Engineers Australia (EA). The meeting focussed on introduction of both engineering societies and discussions on possibilities of liaison for various aspects of their ongoing activities and objectives.
In the meeting, Chairperson of SONEUK, Mr Sanyukta Shrestha presented a short history and objectives of SONEUK, its current activities and ongoing projects. President of Engineers Australia UK Chapter, Ms Nicola Telcik presented on the structure and objectives of EA, and its annual events calendar with details.
Former Chairperson and Advisor of SONEUK, Mr Ghanashyam Paudyal discussed how Nepalese engineers in the UK can benefit from the chartership of Engineers Australia and attending each other’s technical events. He further elaborated on possibilities of joint events and contributing resource persons for ongoing projects.
SONEUK Vice-Chairperson Mr Narad Bhandari added that the relationship can be mutually beneficial for the professional development of members of both organisations. SONEUK General Secretary Dr Bidur Ghimire concluded the meeting by identifying overlapping sectors where both organisations have been actively contributing to their members.
