The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Society of Nepalese Engineers in UK (SONEUK) commenced at Everest Inn, Blackheath, London, on Saturday 7th September 2024. Since its establishment in 2007, this Nepalese diaspora organisation has been working for the welfare of its members. The SONEUK Election programme was conducted from 23rd August 2024 to 7th September 2024. On 7th September 2024, SONEUK elected its 6th Executive Committee (EC). Er. Subodh Timilsina was elected unopposed to the position of Chairperson of the 6th EC.

Other executives, Dr. Rudra Poudel for the position of Vice-chairperson, Er. Manoj Pun for
General Secretary, Er. Sangita Pokhrel for Secretary, and Er. Suman Chalise for Treasurer,
were also elected unopposed. Similarly, Dr. Brahmananda Sapkota, Er. Pukar Siwakoti, Dr.
Suryanath Ghimire, Er. Sujan Sharma, and Er. Sujeet Sharma were elected as unopposed
members of the EC.

Earlier in the day, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) was also held, chaired by the incumbent
Chairperson, Er. Rudra Koirala, and conducted by the incumbent Secretary, Er. Sagyan Kharel.
The outgoing 5th EC presented reports on the activities accomplished during its two-year
tenure, which were later endorsed by the AGM. The AGM also discussed various activities of
the society. Elected Chairperson Er. Subodh Timilsina presented his vision for the society for
the upcoming term, and the session was concluded.
